No. Since Telegram is a cloud-based service, your messages, photos, and contacts remain on their servers even if the app is uninstalled. To remove your data, you must either use the manual deactivation link or wait for the 'Self-Destruct' period to expire.

By default, Telegram is set to delete your account if you don't log in for 6 months. You can adjust this to 1, 3, 12, or 24 months in 'Settings > Privacy and Security'. If you don't open the app once during that window, everything—including your Cloud Chats—is permanently wiped.

When you delete your account, any groups or channels you created will continue to exist. They become 'orphaned,' meaning they have no owner, but existing admins retain their permissions. If you want a group gone forever, you must manually delete it *before* you delete your account.

No. Deleting your account clears the 'Cloud Chat' on your end and Telegram's servers, but your recipients will still have their copy of the conversation. Your name will simply change to 'Deleted Account' and your profile picture will be removed. To wipe messages for both sides, you must use the 'Clear History' for both parties feature before deleting your account.

Yes, but you will start with a completely empty account. Your old contacts, messages, and groups will not be restored. Note that Telegram may prevent you from signing up with the same number for a few days immediately following a manual deletion to prevent spam.

Any 'Telegram Stars' or crypto assets held in the integrated 'Wallet' bot will be lost if you delete your account without transferring them first. These assets are tied to your account ID; once the ID is purged, the assets become inaccessible.
